The Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) Armenia, based at UWC Dilijan, has received renewed funding to continue offering its flagship IT courses for Armenian youth.

In addition to the ongoing programme focused on Android mobile application development for young people aged 14–16, the new funding will support the launch of a cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) course for university-level students.

Samsung’s decision to expand the programme in Armenia stems from the increasing global demand for highly skilled data science professionals and a commitment to contribute to Armenia’s emergence as a high-tech economy.

The newly introduced AI course is designed for university-level students with a solid foundation in mathematics, including linear algebra, probability, and statistics. Developed by Samsung experts, the course provides in-depth training in machine learning (ML) and neural networks (NN), with practical applications in Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing (NLP).

The one-year AI course comprises 350 hours of hybrid learning: 144 in-class hours and the remainder through self-paced online study via the SIC learning portal. Participants will also complete a capstone graduate project. Upon successful completion, students will receive a Samsung Certificate and may qualify for the Finals of the Annual Interuniversity Contest of Graduate Projects.

“We are honoured and excited to extend our partnership with UWC Dilijan. Our company’s core values are people and co-prosperity. Implementing Samsung Innovation Campus project globally we contribute to the education of youth giving them the opportunity to bring in the positive social changes and development of their communities. I am confident in our continued successful collaboration with UWC Dilijan and in the exceptional quality of future graduate projects by SIC Armenia students both in Mobile Development and AI courses,” stated Sergey Pevnev, Vice President at Samsung Electronics CIS HQ.

A collaborative initiative between UWC Dilijan - an international boarding school in Armenia - and Samsung Electronics, a global leader in technology, the Samsung Innovation Campus was established in 2021 with the mission of empowering Armenian youth with practical IT education. The Campus has since welcomed 312 students from Dilijan, Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor, and other communities across Armenia.
